Quentin Tarantino Remakes Deliverance

It is Official. Legendary Film Maker Quentin Tarantino is remaking the 1972 classic movie, Deliverance. Deliverance is responsible for making the banjo the most terrifying sound one can hear while in the woods. It will be released later this year.

Deliverance is a 1972 American survival thriller film produced and directed by John Boorman, and starring Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox.The film was a critical and box office success, earning three Academy Award nominations and five Golden Globe Award nominations.

Dueling Banjos

Widely acclaimed as a landmark picture, the plot of the movie is that four city boys canoe down a river in the remote northern Georgia wilderness. The boys have crazy adventures and hilarity ensues. The film is noted for a music scene near the beginning, with one of the city men playing “Dueling Banjos” on guitar with a banjo-picking country boy. It is also notorious for its brutal depiction of a fat man made to “squeal like a pig”.

Tarantino told Madhouse Movie News, “It is a classic fish out of water story. City mouse meets country mouse, if you will. My take on the film will be true to the original, but I think it’s actually a love story. I will make the squeal like a pig scene a little more tender and loving towards the end, then extreme graphic blood and violence. It’s going to be epic.”

The new reboot will star Brad Pitt in the Burt Reynolds role as Lewis. Leo DiCaprio will play Ed, originally played by Jon Voight. Seth Rogen will play the chubby Bobby which Ned Beatty did a masterful job as in 1972. Finally, Tarantino himself will play the other guy, Drew which no one knows who that guy is anyway. Tarantino is said to be taking banjo and guitar lessons 12 hours a day by none other than Steve Martin. Slash will record the soundtrack. It is rumored that one sleepy, squinty eyed public figure will portray the banjo boy since he has such a striking resemblance to the original.

Travolta & Jackson

Tarantino favorites, John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson will portray the hill people. Travolta and Jackson star in the infamous pig squealing scene. The duo taunt and attack Seth Rogen and DiCaprio before Brad Pitt intervenes with his crossbow. When asked about the scene, Rogen stated, “I prepared for the scene mentally and physically by, well actually I don’t think you want to know what I did to prepare.”
