Neil Young has partnered with The Girl Scouts of America to launch a new line of signature cookies.

Young has been making the rounds promoting the new cookies. He has appeared at Jamborees all over the United States and Canada. Neil has appeared in numerous commercials to hawk the new brand as well. In one hysterical commercial, Young appears in pigtails and full girl scout uniform while performing “Cinnamon Girl”.

Sugar Mountain

The line features “Cinnamon Girl” Chocolate Chip, “Powderfinger” Lemon Squares, “Sugar Mountain” Do-Si-Dos & “Chocolate and The Damage Done” Tagalongs. The cookies cost $17.99 per box and you can receive a free Neil Young cd with all purchases. Young has been seen standing outside of a supermarket in California, selling the cookies. He has even gone door to door. How cool would that be to answer your door and there is Neil Young selling girl scout cookies!?

Young is a huge fan of Girl Scout cookies. “Back in the day, I would often get stoned and eat an entire sleeve of thin mints while staring at my dog” said Young. “I had a huge stash of cookies at Woodstock. I had to hide them in my guitar case so that the fat bastard Crosby wouldn’t eat them.”

“The Girl Scouts are a great organization”, continued Young. “Did you know that I was turned onto girl scout cookies in 1968 by Squeaky Fromme? I was friendly with the Manson family. Charlie was a good musician. I was recommending Charlie to record companies and then the murders happened. Then I said never mind. I wrote Cinnamon Girl about Squeaky. True Story.”

“I am thinking about branching out into candy and popcorn next year” said Young. “I have a lot of ideas. Maybe for Christmas I will sell wrapping paper with my face on it, candles, you name it!”
