Neil Young Boycotts Wordle After Word Of The Day is “Trump”

Musician Neil Young announced today that he is now officially boycotting Wordle. Young explained that he was a big fan of Wordle and played every day. However that all came to an end when the word of the day was, “Trump”. Neil spiraled out of control upon witnessing that word and smashed his phone. He then sat down and wrote a strongly worded email to The New York Times expressing how upset he was before passing out.

Young was treated at a local hospital and released. He is now resting comfortably and is doing as well as can be expected under these trying conditions. Neil’s wife, actress Daryl Hannah released a statement, “The Young Family requests privacy at this time. Neil is recuperating and needs lots of rest and fluids. He is getting lots of kisses from his dog ‘Butters’ and our twin daughters, Banjo and Cricket.”

Wordle

Wordle is a web based word game owned by The New York Times. Players have six attempts to guess a five letter word. Wordle has a single daily solution with all players attempting to guess the same word. The game went viral after players started sharing their daily results to social media. It has become quite addicting to many but is a fun way for friends and family to enjoy themselves.

Neil Young has a history of aggressive, volatile behavior. He once bit a reporter for asking a stupid question. Over the years, Young has had feuds with David Crosby, Spotify, X, his dry cleaners, the local deli, three Chinese restaurants, the dog groomer, Beck, Lynyrd Skynyrd, numerous cab drivers and a troop of Girl Scouts.

Young looked forward to his daily Wordle though. Hannah explained, “Neil would sit by the fire sipping hot cocoa. He worked on the Wordle for hours at a time. Honestly, it took me like 3 minutes to do it but he would sit there for 8 hours sometimes. But it was a good way to keep his mind busy and keep him out of my hair for a while. Great, I guess I will be stuck with him again now.”

The New York Times expressed regret and fired the staff member that was responsible for allowing the “T” word to be unleashed on the unsuspecting world. A spokesperson issued a statement: “We regret this unfortunate incident. Even though it is an actual word, Many staff members have been whipped and others have been fired. This is a senseless tragedy that could have been avoided. Our hearts go out to Neil Young and his family during this difficult time.”
