Geddy Lee Jokes: “Santa Once Asked Neil Peart To Guide Sleigh”

Geddy Lee had the crowd in hysterics during his recent book tour appearance. Lee told a heart warming story about his former bandmate, Rush Drummer Neil Peart. “Neil got a lot of drumming awards but let me tell you about the award he was most proud of. Neil once received a high honor. He was personally selected by Santa Claus to guide his sleigh one Christmas.”

This of course was a reference to Peart’s giant bulbous red honker. The band often joked with each and busted on each other. Peart went so far as to write a series of children’s books mocking Geddy Lee. The titles of the books include: ‘Geddy Chokes His Chicken’ which alleges that Lee has a lifelong masturbation addiction.

In “Mommy Drinks Because You’re Bad” Peart takes aim at Geddy’s Mother’s Alcoholism. Other books in the series include “Gary’s Horrible Secret” which is about Geddy Lee’s Grandpa molesting him and “Goodbye Testicles” which ridicules Geddy’s high voice and his marriage.

Lee then continued his story, “Santa Claus was expecting a very foggy Christmas Eve one year and was considering cancelling Christmas completely. Rudolph the reindeer was in prison on an outstanding warrant, and was unavailable. Santa’s elf Hans who is a huge ‘Rush’ fan, mentioned his favorite drummer to Santa. Hans said hey Santa, what about Neil Peart? Peart has a huge bulbous red nose, a very shiny nose, and if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows.”

“Santa was flabbergasted when he saw Peart. ‘Jeez look at the honker on that guy’ said Santa “he makes Rudolph look like a plastic surgeons daughter. At first I thought he was eating a tomato. I had to put on my shades to look at him. Peart is my man to guide the sleigh for sure.” At this point Lee pulled out a Santa and Neil Peart puppet and continued his story using the puppets to illustrate further.

“Peart happily accepted Santa’s offer. ‘I am honored’ and I am glad to save Christmas for all the little children all over the world, God Bless us all, everyone.” You can catch Lee telling this story and many other jokes as he is making the rounds. Geddy has a new memoir out titled My Effin Life and a new TV show on Paramount.
