Queen singer and American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert, proudly unveiled his brand new Freddie Mercury tattoo. The tattoo is a beautiful tribute from one Queen singer to another.

Mercury was the iconic lead singer and frontman of Queen from 1970 until his death in 1991. He was Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music, and was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. Mercury defied the conventions of a rock frontman with his theatrical style, influencing the artistic direction of Queen. The band sold 300 million records during this time making it one of the biggest selling bands of all time.

Adam Lambert rose to fame in 2009 after finishing as runner-up on the eighth season of American Idol. The winner was Kris Allen. Who? Lambert was very flamboyant on the show. Judge Simon Cowell often compared Lambert’s performances to drunken Aunt Sheila taking the mic at a wedding. Brian May however enjoyed what he saw and asked Lambert to replace Freddie Mercury in the band and go on tour. Lambert has been touring with Queen since 2011. However, we all know that it’s not really Queen without Freddie Mercury.
