Singer Steven Tyler Wins Silver Medal for Trampoline

Steven Tyler 68, Lead Singer of the band Aerosmith made a surprising showing at the Summer Olympics in Rio, winning the Silver for Team USA.

Tyler was ecstatic after surprising the crowd, the bookmakers and, perhaps, even himself with a silver in trampolining on his Olympic debut. He was beaten to gold by 0.425 points as China’s Dong Dong won a second successive Olympic title with a score of 56.465.

Steven was a trampoline champion in High School but gave it up to pursue a career in music. “The singing thing worked out pretty well, but I always had a longing to bounce.” said Tyler. “Bouncing is in your blood. Either you got it or you don’t. But once you get that bouncing fever in ya’, you know. You don’t ride the trampoline, the tramp rides you.”

“After I got sober, I started getting back on the ‘line as I call it. I realized I still got it and I should think about pursuing this further. I contacted world famous trampoline trainer Boris Vdavichenka who said I should go for the gold. I started training seriously in 2013 and the rest is history. Not bad for an old rock star eh? ”

Joe Perry, Aerosmith guitarist and lifelong friend of Tyler commented “He won what!? This is insane on so many levels. I never knew Steven was a ‘trampoline-ist’. Who even knew trampoline was an olympic event!? My 4yo granddaughter loves the trampoline. I may enter her in the next olympics. Wait, I am pretty good at the Slip n Slide. Is that an event? Maybe I will enter for that next time.”

Steven has decided he will once again retire from the trampoline and get back to singing. When asked for comment Mr Tyler commented, “I guess my itch was scratched, the rabbit done died, my get up and go, got up and went.”
