The Rolling Stones delighted passersby on the streets of New York City today by performing a surprise pop up gig at Ray’s Pizza. This was just a mere 12 hours after The Stones performed another intimate, invite only gig at a small venue, “Racket”. The occasion was the release of their first album in many years, “Hackney Diamonds”.

New Yorkers got more than they bargained for when the legendary Rolling Stones rolled into Ray’s Pizza. This surprise lunchtime gig had everyone saying, “Hey, maybe you can always get what you want!” Picture this: A rainy Friday and You’re on your lunch break. When suddenly, a rock ‘n roll cyclone sweeps through the door and nearly knocks the pepperoni right off your pizza! It’s none other than Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood ready to deliver a pizza-sized portion of rock history.

Plus the Knishes are to die for.”

That’s What Makes Our Town The Best

The Stones kicked off the show with the greatest song ever written about New York City, “Shattered”.  “Pride and joy and greed and sex, that’s what makes our town the best, Shadoobee.” McCartney joined the band for “Bite My Head Off” and Stevie and Gaga stepped up for the showstopper, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”.

Traffic was snarled for miles, fans were running wild in the streets and people were so choked up they were wiping their tears with slices of Pizza. “This is the greatest day of my life” said Stones fan, Sean Robertson. “Sure I got married and witnessed the birth of my three children, but that all pales in comparison to eating a slice of pizza while watching the Rolling Stones performing three feet away from me.”
