Remembering Lemmy

Ian Fraser Kilmister was born December 24, 1945 somewhere in England. As a boy, young Ian showed an interest in girls, rock n roll and horses, but not necessarily in that order. The Beatles influenced Lemmy to pick up the guitar.

Lemmy moved to London in 1967, where he shared a flat with Noel Redding, bass player for Jimi Hendrix. Noel pulled some string and got Lemmy a gig as a roadie with the band. You can see Lemmy holding up the Marshall amplifiers as Jimi simulates a sex act with it.

In 1971 Lemmy had some success with his band, Hawkwind. Then came Motorhead. When guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke and drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor joined the band, they began to achieve success.

Those Groupies Will Kill Ya

Lemmy had an insatiable appetite for booze, drugs and women. The true embodiment of a Rock Star, it is said Lemmy ingested a bottle of Jack Daniels and a new groupie every day for 40 years. Those groupies will kill ya! Lemmy’s mum once described him as “a living, breathing, drinking and snorting fookin’ legend. No one else comes close.”

From 1990, until his death, Lemmy lived in the Rainbow Bar and Grill. He had a small apartment in the attic and would play video poker at the bar every day. Lemmy died December 28, 2015 from prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia, and congestive heart failure. He was such a badass, it took 3 diseases to bring him down. Rest in Peace, Lemmy! A true Rock Star!

A new biopic about Lemmy – titled, ‘Just Lemmy’, is set to begin production in early 2021. The movie will be directed by Bong Joon Ho and will star Morgan Freeman as the iconic rockstar, Lemmy. Ho, of course, won several Oscar’s for his breakthrough movie “Parasite’, winning Best Picture, Director and Key Grip. “I have always admired Lemmy” said Freeman, “I first met Lemmy in 1967 when we were both roadies for Jimi Hendrix. I remember one night in Berlin, Lemmy spent the night with this old German Hooker and the next morning he came back with the moles on his face. It was the darndest thing. We tried scrubbing them off, burning them off, bleaching them off, everything we could think of but those buggers would not budge.” Shawn Mendes will play the young Lemmy, and Ryan Seacrest will co star as Lemmy’s face warts.

Lemmy’s Moles

Speaking of Lemmy’s moles, The moles, ‘Claude’ and ‘Manny’ are planning on releasing an album and touring in the near future. The moles have been living in seclusion in Montreux, Switzerland since  Lemmy’s death. “We have been drying out, writing, recording and putting a band together” said Manny. “It was time” said Claude. “Lemmy would have wanted us to carry on. This new album is a work of love for our friend Lemmy. A great tribute to the man who taught us everything we know.”
