Man Jumps Overboard on Jimmy Buffett Cruise After 24 Hrs Of “Margaritaville”

A man jumped overboard on a Jimmy Buffett “Margaritaville at Sea” cruise headed for Grand Bahama Island. The cruise ship set from Palm Beach, Florida, just 24 hours earlier.

The man identified as Chris Hoskins, 56, from Tampa, Florida, jumped from the Cruise ship just after midnight. The ship was approximately 55 miles east of Port Canaveral, according to the Coast Guard. He was heard screaming, “No more Margaritaville, I can’t take it. I gotta get off this boat.”

Why do they keep playing Margaritaville?

Witnesses have stated that Hoskins was unaware that this was a Cruise dedicated solely to all things Jimmy Buffett. Witness Don Harwood stated “I was talking to the man by the pool and he seemed really agitated. He kept saying why do they keep playing Margaritaville over and over? It is really getting on my nerves. He seemed quite upset when told the song is played for the entire length of the cruise.”

A passenger on the boat tells Madhouse News … she was on the Acapulco deck when 2 teens came running past her in a panic. She told them to slow down so they wouldn’t hurt themselves. That’s when they called me a Karen and screamed someone had gone overboard.

Empire

Jimmy Buffett created an empire based on his 1977 song ‘Margaritaville’ which reflected a laid-back drunken lifestyle in a tropical climate. Buffett began his business empire in 1985 when he opened his first Margaritaville Cafe in Key West, Florida. Jimmy has now expanded the business to include resorts, casinos, retirement homes, funeral homes and you name it. The latest venture is the cruise line. As Buffett once said, “To me, the only thing better than being on a beach by the ocean, is to be raking in peoples money from my one song I wrote 40 something years ago.”

Unfortunately Jimmy passed on but his memory will last forever. You can relive all things Buffett on The “Margaritaville Paradise” cruise ship. The onboard experience includes themed restaurants such as Lost Shaker of Salt Buffett, Blew Out My Flip Flop Prime Steak & Seafood, Cheeseburger in Paradise Pizzeria, Nibblin on Sponge Cake Bakery Cafe, Mexican Cutie Tattoo Parlor, Woman To Blame Brothel and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar. There is also an on board rehab center and liver replacement facility.

Alive and Well

Finally Hoskins was found alive and well at a dive bar in Cocoa Beach drinking a non Jimmy Buffett themed beer and listening to The Ramones on the juke box. “I had no idea what I was getting into” said Hoskins. “I hate all that parrot head crap. Who knew what hell awaited me? I thought it was going to be a regular cruise where I could get drunk, gorge myself and do the limbo. The brochure did not mention that I would be tortured with an endless loop of that stupid Margaritaville song. I didn’t care what happened to me, I had to get off that boat immediately. I almost drowned, I was attacked by sharks and got sun burn. But that was still better than listening to that song for 1 more minute.” All further cruises are cancelled.
