Gene Simmons Busted Using KISS Avatars To Drive in HOV Lane

Gene Simmons was busted for using the KISS avatars as his passengers in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane in New York State. New York State Trooper Tim Salmon, said in an X post that the driver was in the HOV lanes on Interstate 278 in Staten Island, New York when the trooper noticed multiple unusual occupants in the rear seat.

After pulling over the offending driver, Trooper Salmon confirmed that the driver was none other than KISS founder Gene Simmons. The passengers were indeed avatars. There was a sophisticated projector setup in the rear of the vehicle that projected the avatars into the back seat. Simmons argued that the law does not apply to Avatars since it is a new technology.

Simmons was ticketed and fined $336 for the infraction plus an additional $200 per avatar. It is illegal to use dummies, mannequins, dolls or any other non human in order to cheat the HOV system. The HOV lane is only to be used with cars with 3 or more occupants.

“I have seen it all” said Trooper Salmon. “People have used crazy clowns, dogs, mannequins, imaginary friends, cardboard cutouts and many other items to drive in the HOV lane. The craziest though is once when I pulled over a guy and he had 2 sex dolls in the car with him. They were very realistic and he even tried saying he was legally married to one of them. It did not fly and he got the ticket.”

Gene Simmons & KISS Avatars

In case you have been under a rock for the last 2 month, KISS had their final concert in December at MSG in New York City. At this time, the band announced that they would be continuing on forever as Avatars. The Avatars were introduced to the crowd and quickly mocked endlessly.

Simmons plans to fight the ticket and vows Avatars are the wave of the future. Besides the music and touring aspect, we just came out with a home version of the avatars. By the year 2030, there will be KISS avatars in every home. Fans can use them for things like driving in the HOV lanes, and basic companionship for the lonely and unloved. The Home version of the KISS Avatars retail for $7995.00 and can be purchased at all KISS retail stores or directly from Gene Simmons.
