Elton John Debuts New Single: Tulips On My Organ

Elton John has released his first single in a very long time and it shot straight to number one. The hilarious love song titled “Tulips on My Organ” is trending on all streaming platforms and social media.

Elton performed at Dodger Stadium on Sunday night as part of his annual final tour. However, this performance is supposed to be his final, final ever performance in North America. John has been claiming that since 1975 though. It was a star studded event with celebrities in attendance such as Joni Mitchell, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Lizzo, Heidi Klum, Billie Jean King, John Stamos, Raven-Symoné and Taron Egerton, who portrayed John in the 2019 biopic “Rocketman.”

Elton introduced the new song to the crowd Sunday. “I first came here to America in 1970 to the City of Angels … and I played a club called the Troubadour … and it helped me by accelerating my career in America with a review I got from the L.A. Times. So I’ll never forget that. It was like Tulips on my Organ.” Elton then launched into the new song to the delight of the audience.

The song is very catchy and is classic Elton. The chorus kills with “What’s better than Roses on my piano, It’s Tulips on my organ.” The verse begins with a nod to Billy Joel. “It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday, she’s chasing me around the rectory and grabs me by the organ. I don’t need no pansies, no roses or daffodils on my piano, I need tulips on my organ.”

Roses on my Piano

The Sunday night crowd loved the new song. There was an old fashioned audience sing along with a call and response. Elton would sing, “Roses on my Piano” and the crowd would respond with “Tulips on my Organ”. The sight of Billie Jean King and Lizzo dancing together and singing Tulips on my Organ along with Mick Jagger and Joni Mitchell was an epic sight.

The L.A Times once again gave Elton and his new song a glowing review. “It is a thing of wonder, a perfectly sculpted pop song. Tulips is reminiscent of full-bore rockers such as “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” and “Crocodile Rock” with hints of “Your Song” and “Daniel” The song touches on everything John did before. It is a testament to Elton’s legendary career.
