Paul McCartney & Dolly Parton Arrested Recreating Beatles Rooftop Concert

Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton have been arrested by London police today. The beloved duo were recreating the famous Beatles rooftop concert when the Bobbies nabbed them for disturbing the peace and creating a nuisance. Sir Paul and Dolly were on the roof of 3 Savile Row delighting the crowd below when the constables kicked down the door and seized the pair.

McCartney and Parton were recreating the rooftop concert on the anniversary of the original event. Why was Dolly there you may ask yourself? Paul and Dolly are recording songs together for Dolly’s new Rock n Roll record. The twosome have recorded “Let it Be” “Helter Skelter” “Why Don’t We Do It in the Road” and “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey”.

Get Your Coats

As Paul and Dolly were recording, the engineer notified them that today was the anniversary of the rooftop concert. P & D looked at each other grabbed their guitars as Paul yelled, “Get your coats mates we are going up on the roof”. The pair loaded up the bus and along with their entourage, they made the trek from Abbey Road studios to the old Apple Corps headquarters at 3 Savile Row.

Get Back

McCartney and Parton started performing at 12:30pm and were shut down by the Constables after only 30 minutes. They performed the same songs The Beatles did during the original concert. Crowds of onlookers, many on lunch breaks, congregated in the streets and on the rooftops of nearby buildings to listen.

Ethel Whitehead who lives in an apartment adjacent to 3 Savile Row, immediately called police. Ethel lived in the same apartment in 1969 and called the police then as well. “They are at it again” complained Ethel. “I was 18 and trying to sleep in 1969 and they woke me up. Now I am in my seventies and they woke me up again. “It is getting ridiculous.”

Ray Dagg

Even more amazingly, the first officer on the scene was Ray Dagg. Dagg of course was the Constable who shut down the original concert. In 1969 London Metropolitan PC Ray Dagg was 19 at the time. To his colleagues he was known as Police Constable 574C but to the legions of Beatles fans, he’s the London cop who pulled the plug on the last live gig of one of the greatest bands in history. Today was Dagg’s last day on the force as he is retiring. “I do not regret shutting down the concert in 1969” said Dagg, “And I will not regret shutting this noise down again. I am not a Beatles fan, I much prefer Simon and Garfunkel.”

Unlike the original concert, this time Paul was not going quietly. Sir Paul raised his bass as a weapon and told Officer Dagg to piss off. Dagg and his Constables tasered Paul on his nads while the other gendarmes manhandled Dolly and dragged them both off to the hoosegow. Dolly took out 2 of them and they needed backup to subdue her as she was kicking and punching anyone around. It took a total of 6 officers to bring her down.
