Cardi B & Bono to Star in Disney’s ‘Sound of Music’ Reboot

Disney has announced they will remake The Sound of Music. Cardi B and Bono will star as Maria and Captain von Trapp in this beloved story of the young novice who falls in love with Captain von Trapp and his seven children. The movie is set against the backdrop of World War II Austria. The jewel in the Rodgers and Hammerstein crown, The Sound of Music contains some of the most famous songs ever written for the stage, including The Sound of Music, My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen, Climb Every Mountain and Edelweiss.

The reboot will be a contemporary reimagining of the 1965 classic movie. The beloved songs will be updated with a rock n roll and rap twist. Cardi B’s infamous song ‘WAP’ will be included in the new movie. As well as the U2 song, ”I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”.

WAP

Disney spokesperson Bo Bradley told Madhouse News, “Watching Cardi B twerk to her song ‘WAP’ with the Swiss Alps in the background is breath taking. We believe it is the greatest moment in cinema history. I will put it up against the horses head scene in ‘The Godfather’ or the parting of the river in ‘The Ten Commandments’. It is Epic.”

Bradley continued, “We have also made the new movie more inclusive. The seven Von Trapp children will now include trans, multi racial, non binary, little people, physically challenged, mentally challenged and indigenous children.”

Also starring in the reboot will be Lady GaGa as Sister Margaretta and Madonna as Sister Berthe. Julie Andrews who starred as Maria in the original movie, will return as Baroness Elsa von Schraeder. Rock stars Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins, John Lydon and Marilyn Manson will do cameos as German soldiers.

Oscar Buzz

The original movie was a major commercial success, becoming the number one box office film after four weeks. It was the highest-grossing film of 1965. By November 1966, The Sound of Music had become the highest-grossing film of all-time. Surpassing Gone with the Wind—and held that distinction for five years. The film was just as popular throughout the world, breaking previous box-office records in twenty-nine countries. Following an initial theatrical release that lasted four and a half years, and two successful re-releases, the film sold 283 million admissions worldwide and earned a total worldwide gross of $286 million. Experts believe the reboot will be the highest grossing film of all time and there is already Oscar Buzz surrounding Cardi B.
