Tom Morello Buys Even Shorter Guitar Strap!

Guitarist Tom Morello likes his guitar slung high. Very high. Ridiculously high as a matter of fact,  and now he vows to raise the guitar even higher.

Morello formed the groundbreaking band “Rage Against the Machine” and is known for his unique creative sound. He is also known for wearing his guitar higher than anyone else. For many years, a low slung guitar was the epitome of cool. Think Jimmy Page with his guitar around his knees and a cigarette in his mouth. Nothing was cooler. But times have changed and cool has gone the way of the dinosaur and the talented musician.

“I actually would like to wear the guitar like a necktie, if I could” said Morello. “For my style of playing, a high guitar is necessary. The only issue is that sometimes the guitar chokes me when I am playing, but hey you have to suffer for your craft.”

“I like everything high” said Morello. “My underpants are perpetually wedged in my crack. I hoist them up as far as they can go. I give myself wedgies all the time. It’s very comforting for me. Like one of those thunder shirts that dogs wear. It calms me down. Whenever I feel tense or nervous, I wedge them in a little further.”

As Huey Lewis once said, “It’s Hip to be Square”. And as comedian Sam Kinison replied “Yeah it’s hip to be square, just like it’s hip to be called Huey”.
