L.A. Names Infamous Public Toilet After George Michael

Los Angeles bestowed the ultimate honor on singing legend George Michael. The L.A City council voted unanimously to name a public toilet after Michael. The toilet in question s located in Will Rogers Memorial Park. It is the site where Michael was arrested for engaging in lewd acts in 1998. It will now forever be named The George Michael Memorial Toilet.

Michael was arrested for disorderly conduct at the park restroom in Beverly Hills, California, after an undercover officer observed him performing a “lewd act.” The officer plainclothes stated Michael was “aware he was being observed” and performed the act in an area of the restroom visible to anyone who entered. He was fined $810 and sentenced to 80 hours of community service. He was also banned from all public bathrooms in California and forced to wear an electronic monitor on his willy.

A City council spokesperson stated, “Times sure have changed. What was once considered a crime and shameful is now embraced and honored. We actually encourage lewd acts in public now. You could get arrested in LA if you are NOT committing a lewd act. We are also hoping naming the toilet after Michael will encourage citizens to actually use the toilet and not defecate on the streets.”

To begin with, George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou on June 25, 1963 in England. He went on to become one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with his sales estimated at between 100 million and 125 million records worldwide. Eventually Michael was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2023. Wait, What? George Michael is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? Well, maybe some of the artists not in the Hall of Fame yet should have spent more time in public toilets.

George was a troubled man who saw his share of police stations. He was arrested in public toilets all over the world. He was once arrested in north London on suspicion of possessing drugs after he was seen loitering in underground toilets in Hampstead Heath, close to his home. George defended “cruising” on Hampstead Heath after he was caught emerging from the bushes with another man in 2006.

Michael revealed that he loved public toilets. “You know how some people enjoy the aroma of fresh bread when walking into a bakery? Well, that is how I feel when I walk into a public bathroom. My senses are working overtime. The scent of a public toilet drags me by the nose and I float away just like in those old cartoons.”
