Johnathan Davis Opens "Korn" Themed Funeral Home in Georgia

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has opened a Funeral Home, Crematory and Taxidermy business in Georgia. The Davis Funeral Home is in Macon, Georgia and is open to the public. In addition to a funeral home, Davis also does taxidermy, cremation services and even has a cemetery and ice cream shop on the premises.

As a young boy Davis dreamed of owning his own funeral home. He was a big fan of the TV show Quincy which inspired him to work as an assistant coroner and embalmer while still in High School. “I would watch Quincy all the time” said Jonathan. “When VCRs became affordable, I received the whole Quincy series on videotape. It was the best present I ever got.”

Quincy

Quincy, M.E. aka Quincy was a mystery medical drama TV series starring Jack Klugman. It aired on NBC from 1976 to 1983. Quincy was the Los Angeles County medical examiner who routinely engaged in police investigations. “Quincy was a badass” said Davis. “While other kids were watching Dukes of Hazard and Knight Rider, I was watching Quincy. I even had a Quincy lunch box.”

At this point Davis read embalming textbooks the same way other kids would read comic books or playboy. “I was quite the weirdo” said Davis. “I wore eyeliner, baggy clothes and listened to The Cure, Depeche Mode and Katrina and The Waves. For a while I even had my hair like that guy from the Flock of Seagulls.”

Korn

Davis then went on to become the lead singer, frontman and occasional bag pipe player for the Nu Metal band, Korn. Korn sold more than 40 million records worldwide. Top ten hits, gold and platinum albums were nice, but Davis still longed for the glamorous life of the funeral home director. “Something was missing” said Davis. “I was never satisfied being a rock star as I was when embalming a body.”

Basically The Davis Funeral Home is a one man shop. Jonathan greets the customers, embalms the bodies, does the makeup and hair, runs the crematory, and even digs the graves himself. Davis will give the eulogy, play the bagpipes and taxidermy your beloved pet. Korn fans have been lined up dying to get in and checkout the many Korn themed rooms and packages such as “Freak on a Leash”. With this package you get a premium casket, a prime grave site near the babbling brook and your pet taxidermied. Plus Davis will perform your favorite Korn song on the bagpipes.
