David Crosby Kicked Out of Rock n Roll Heaven Band for Feuding w Band Mates

Iconic 1960s musician David Crosby has been kicked out of the Rock n Roll Heaven band for fighting with his band mates. Crosby passed away this week at the age of 81. He happily reunited with his former friends and fellow musicians in heaven. However, just as he did on earth, the grouchy but love-able Crosby quickly alienated his friends and band mates.

Heaven Has a Hell of a Band

As everyone knows, Heaven has a hell of a band. Crosby was excited to get to Heaven and start jamming. “It was touch and go there for a minute” said Crosby. “I wasn’t sure I was going to get in and there was a little hold up at the gates. However in the end they let me in. Once in I was overjoyed to see my old buds.”

Things were going well and Croz was delighted playing with Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, George Harrison, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, Jeff Beck and John Entwistle. David was able to jam with his idols Elvis and Chuck Berry.

But it didn’t take long for Crosby to go back to his old ways. He angered John Lennon when he made Yoko jokes and basically called her a no talent gold digger. David then reiterated his views that Eddie Van Halen shouldn’t be on the same stage with Hendrix and is not worthy of carrying his jock strap. Croz did bond with Ronnie Van Zant though. They sat for hours discussing their mutual hatred of Neil Young.

God was forced to call an emergency meeting and requested Crosby leave the band. All the rock stars were complaining. They wrote a group letter of protest addressed to the big man himself. “We have had nothing but peace and quiet since we got here. Crosby has messed with our serenity. Janis has started drinking again, Ginger wants to beat him up, Elvis is eating again and Garcia’s twitch is back. Why can’t he be more like Jeff Beck. When Beck got here it was wonderful, no trouble at all.”

Legend

It is refreshing to see that even heaven couldn’t tame Crosby. Croz was in The Byrds and then Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He drove all his band members crazy and was asked to leave every band he was ever in. But the man is a legend and can sing like an angel. He is one of the few who performed at Monterey Pop, Woodstock & Altamont.

As one hippie remarked on his death, “If you loved David or hated him, or if you thought he was a crazy old man yelling at kids from his porch or if he was an abstract presence in your life, it’s like having a lighthouse in the distance suddenly go dark. We have one less landmark to navigate by.” Thank you for the music sir. Play nice in Heaven.
