Two! Two great bands for the price of One!
The Psychedelic Furs are the voice of a generation. The sound of the 1980’s. They had hit after hit starting with their debut album in 1980, and were one of the most popular and successful bands of the decade. ’Pretty in Pink’ was the soundtrack to the quintessential coming of age movie ’16 Candles’. As a teen coming of age in the 80’s, I loved The Furs. They stood out more than the other bands of the time. They had a unique sound. Infectious melodies with just a hint of darkness. They weren’t just the usual snotty boys with lipstick and funny hairdos.

Bash & Pop opened the show with an incredible set as always. Bash & Pop was formed by Tommy Stinson of the Replacements in 1992 and they released one album before disbanding. They returned in 2016 and released my choice for album of the year ‘Anything Could Happen’. This is my kind of music. A mix of early Stones meets vintage Replacements. Straight ahead, high energy, no holds barred, kick ass Rock n Roll! They have a new 7" single, featuring two songs produced by and featuring local singer-songwriter Nicole Atkins. The tracks “Too Late” and “Saturday” will be available digitally and on a limited edition 7" on November 24 via Fat Possum.

The Psychedelic Furs were electric. From the jump, they had the crowd on their feet. We were all young again for 1 night. Every song contained a thousand memories. I just love this damn band. They sounded so good.

Singer Richard Butler looked great and sounded better than ever. His voice was spot on. The band was tight. They were having a lot of fun up there. Richard was smiling and dancing and having a great time with the rest of the band.

The current lineup is, Richard Butler (vocals), Tim Butler (bass), Richard Good (guitar), Mars Williams (saxophone), Amanda Kramer (keyboards), & Paul Garisto (drums).

The songs! Oh man what songs! ‘Love My Way’, ‘The Ghost In You’, ‘Heartbeat’, ‘All That Money Wants’, ‘Heaven’, ’Pretty in Pink’ and the highlight of the night for me was ‘Heartbreak Beat’ complete with crowd sing a long.

A great night of music. Do not miss this tour.
