Mick Taylor: Why I Really Left the Stones!

Mick Taylor Why I Really Left The Stones

In an exclusive interview with Madhouse Magazine, Mick Taylor has finally revealed the real reason why he left the Rolling Stones. Mick Taylor was the lead guitarist for the Rolling Stones from 1969-1974. Taylor played on the Stones classic Albums ‘Let it Bleed’, ‘Exile on Main St.’ and ‘Sticky Fingers’.

“When I first joined the band, it was all good”, said Taylor. “Very shortly though, Keith started pulling pranks on me! Before a particular press conference, Keith told me we were all dressing up like Queen Elizabeth. I get there, and I am the only one in costume, and they were all laughing at me. I would fall asleep on the plane and Keith would put my hand in warm water and I would pee myself. He was constantly sending pizza deliveries to my room. He would put all my guitar picks in Jello. Right before every show, he would fart in his hand and rub it on my face.”

“The final straw came in 1974 during a recording session for It’s Only Rock n Roll. Keith did not like what I was playing and kept looking at me disapprovingly. Later that night at our poker game, Keith came up behind me and gave me an Atomic Wedgie! The waist band of my underpants went right over my head and almost suffocated me. I went after him with my Guitar but Charlie broke it up. I could not sit down for a week, I had enough. When I saw Mick, I told him I was quitting and I never looked back.”

Truss Me

Taylor needed to wear a truss for 6 weeks and almost lost a testicle. Fortunately doctors were able to save it. His taint looked like he was attacked by a rabid wolverine.

“I finally got Keith back though. At the last reunion in 2013, backstage at MSG in NYC, I replaced Keith’s Denture Grip with Ben Gay! I rubbed it into his underpants before the show. Keith was jumping jack flash that night for sure. That will put a little lead in your pencil.”
